ICAP has been awarded funding by the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through the co-operative agreement for Strengthening the Evidence Base and Capacity for Implementing HIV Prevention and Care and Treatment Programs in the Republic of South Africa under the United States Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to lead the design and implementation of the national NIMART situational analysis.

Reporting to the Regional NIMART Advisor, the position will play an active role in the research activities implemented by ICAP across the Districts in the relevant provinces.

Duties of the position include providing support in data collection and assuring data reliability and quality assurance checks, assistance with compiling reports for project management and routine reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities: Mainly responsible for data collection at health facilities from participating nurses using hand held electronic devices (tablets):
– Uploading data to the cloud system as required
– Liaise with NIMART Strengthening Advisor on gaining access to the sampled facilities
– Ensure that all study participants in each facility are sampled according to eligibility criteria
– Ensure that the questionnaires are completed correctly and in full before leaving the health facility
– In conjunction with supervisor develop a plan to ensure completeness and adequacy of the data collection
– Report breach of protocol to supervisor
– You’ll need to have some appetite in research to excel in these positions
– Willingness and interest in knowing the operational model of Department of Health Primary/Community Healthcare Clinics.

Applicants must be unemployed graduates from accredited institutions of Higher Learning.

The applicants must not have been exposed to work experience in their area of study or have participated in an internship programme in a government department or NGO.

Estimated duration of the Internship Program is 1st June 2017 and ends on 30th November 2017.
