At Absa, we run challenging training programmes which allow candidates to explore all areas of Absa. We provide SAICA, ACCA and CIMA training for accounting trainees who want to qualify as Chartered Accountants (CA) (SA), Accredited Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and Chartered Management Accountant (CMA).

ABSA is now recruiting for Absa Accounting Training Program

Successful applicants will form part of the extensive Absa Graduate Development Program during their first year of training.

Every trainee will receive guidance on professional development from a dedicated personal mentor. The training takes place at our head office in Johannesburg. The Absa Accounting Training Program provides a challenging training platform, with rotations to ensure exposure to different technical areas and specialist business units

Chartered accountants and other professionals supervise trainees. Trainees also have the opportunity to explore various divisions in the bank to establish which area of specialisation they would like to follow after completion of their training contract.

In 2008, the Absa Accounting Training Program had a success rate of 73% for the SAICA FQE 1 exam; and achieved a 50% pass rate for the FQE 2, with one of the candidates holding the 10th position overall. In 2009, the pass rate for the FQE 1 was 100%.
