PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Acquire, attract and retain a portfolio of commercial clients, with a primary focus on switching new business from competitor banks and timeous migration of the existing portfolio to a Relationship Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, research, create and follow up a target list for potential new business
Increase and grow (income) in line with agreed targets by:
generating ongoing referral business
identifying potential Segment business clients
Ensure the creation and maintenance of an effective network in terms of competitor financiers, Business Chambers and Business forums
Focus on cross sell ratio improvement
Identify sales and services opportunities and offering solutions appropriate for the customer’s needs
Adopt a commercial approach to cost control and income generation
Responsible for delivering a solutions based approach to the customer through use of a customer needs analysis
Develop and maintain an understanding of the regional market trends and business lifecycle challenges
Participate in seminars for customers and provide information and trail new products to meet future customer requirements
Understand and apply the relevant governance and compliance procedures
Develop credit solutions which are both practical and appropriate for customers
Responsible for managing the credit risk
Identify channels of potential new customers
Work proactively with colleagues across the group to support the growth of lead generation
Proactively raise the profile and reputation of the Bank in the local community
Provide financial advice to existing and new customers within the local community

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

B Degree in Finance or Accounting or Marketing or equivalent NQF level 6 or higher qualification
FAIS NQF level 6 qualification
Five (5) years customer facing experience in corporate or financial industry
Three (3) years experience in working towards sales targets
Three (3) business acquisition experience
One (1) year credit risk experience
Three (3) years FAIS role experience
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
No criminal record

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Post Graduate qualification in Marketing or equivalent NQF level 6 or higher qualification
Experience in analysing corporate or commercial clients financials
Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
