We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for the development and execution of sales strategies in South Africa to achieve market plans and targets for student recruitment and conversion to membership through engagement with employers, universities and schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the Global Employer Relationships (GER) Unit to determine the employer and relationship management approach for South Africa in order to build long-term, mutually valuable relationships
Deliver the ACCA business relationship management approaches for a portfolio of employers, universities and schools in South Africa
Target employers in corporate, practice and public sectors to ensure we grow the number of ACCA members, that relevant opportunities for existing members and students are continuously developed and that ACCA achieves enhanced reputation and influence
Develop enhanced B2B capability to provide tailored customer service support and effective key account management, which clearly differentiates ACCA from its competitors
Develop effective knowledge of employers, universities, schools and identify key trends and respond to those needs appropriately
Work with the Marketing team to develop employer, university and school focused marketing initiatives throughout the year to ensure recruitment targets are met
Work with employer-facing staff within ACCA to ensure appropriate promotion of products and services to employers
Work with GER Unit to develop and deliver a plan of activity for global employers and cross-border employers in South Africa
Develop and deliver agreed employer, university and school related targets and report regularly on progress through the appropriate reporting mechanisms
Gather, monitor and share market intelligence including competitive activities
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following attributes and experience:
Possess a university degree in marketing or business
5 years proven experience working in a business development role
Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering strategies, achievement measures and business plans
Commercially orientated and results driven with a track record of successful delivery and an ability to identify new opportunities
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build long term, high quality relationships up to board level and an excellent networker at all levels
Be an excellent communicator with outstanding presentation skills, both written and oral
Strong influencing and negotiation skills
Strong skills in leading and developing an effective team
A highly-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic individual who is able to work with minimum supervision and with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Experience of effective collaborative or partnership working
Ability to work in a global environment and across a diverse range of business cultures
Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in line with ACCA values and mission

Salary: up to ZAR 620,000 gross per annum dependent on experience
