Job Description

Service Delivery professionals are responsible for providing service delivery across the breadth of offerings such as accounting, information technology, application development and maintenance, helpdesk services, procurement, learning and training, and human resources. The work that is performed by our delivery professionals may serve one or more clients concurrently and they may be located directly at a client site or within our global delivery network.

Purpose of the Job:

* To install, maintain and support the Edcon stores, Warehouses, Regional Offices and HR Offices
* To provide support to the Edcon stores from the Support Service Centre’s (SSC’s)

Main Responsibilities/Tasks:

* Providing user support through daily maintenance and support of software and hardware
* Monitoring and managing printer operability
* Maintaining a stable network environment
* Managing all documentation and procedures for easy access while doing maintenance
* Providing workstation standardization and workstation software support
* Installing software for users
* Managing the stores network servers. Configure, troubleshoot, standardizing and monitoring the network servers
* Communicating clearly the technology challenges, progress, maintenance and other issues to the Team Leader
* Implementing Edcon technical architecture at new sites. This includes setting up the network, client workstations, address server, printing architecture and connectivity to the mainframe
* Communicating with other maintenance and support team members to resolve technical problems
* Reporting weekly status to the relevant team leaders. Identifying problems and bringing them to your supervisor’s attention with sufficient lead-time to avert crises
* Working effectively as part of a team and seeks to support the team’s goals
* Broaden your own technical, functional, and industry skill base
* Engaging in formal or informal knowledge transfer
* Performing technical related work as required

Other Features of the Job (e.g., location, traveling, shift hours, etc.):

* Open plan office environment
* Overtime and standby when required (including weekends)
* Travelling
* Shift work as required

Qualifications

Education, Qualifications, Experience Necessary:

· Appropriate and recognized formal IT training

· CNE and MCSE an advantage

· Minimum 1 year relevant experience

· Network support experience

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience in the following will be deemed as an advantage.

* Netware for SAA
* Some Microsoft Training
* A+ certification
* Operating Systems (MS Windows 95 / 98 / 2000/ NT / Novell/ DOS)
* MS Office/Citrix/Norton Anti-virus/PC Anywhere
