3M is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor for the Finance Division located in Woodmead, Sandton

The position of Accounts Payable Supervisor is located in Woodmead and will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:

1. Review the proposed disbursements by verifying the supporting documents against a purchase order.
2. Verify the accounting entries and approval for payment.
3. Ensure reconcilations of accounts to supplier statements and clearing of queries are done.
4. Maximise cash flow by negotiating settlement discounts.
5. Control the process of Foreign Payments.
6. Processing of Journal vouchers
7. Prepare gain and loss on Exchange.
8. Complete month end balancing of Foreign Accounts.
9. Close month end and balance all Journals.
10. Balance month end Foreign Shipments costed.
11. Prepare month end data file for FIN reports and Intransit file for accruals.
12. All applications/Liason with Banking Institutes.
13. Process all Sub Sahara administation costs.
14. Process and control GESPP program.
15. Authorise EFT and Cheque payments.
16. Assist with monthly stats.
17. Maintain all supporting documents and supplier records.
– Supervision of additional personnel within the process.

Ensure that Genpact processes are up to standard and suppliers are paid on due dates.

Education

Matric with Accountancy- (Minimim)

Accounting Diploma

Experience

10 Years in a Financial enviroment/Banking enviroment.

Must have done Foreign payment and handled Foreign suppliers

Good negotiation skills/ people skills

Knowledge

Good Accounting knowledge and business processes-

Key Capabilities

Must be computer literate and strong in reconcilaitions.

SPECIFIC COMPLEXITY

Understanding the Exchange Control Regulations.

Understanding the VAT act.

Knowledge of the interaction of the Payables process with Sourcing, Distribution,Costing and Inventory Control
