ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: ADMINISTRATION 4 POSTS REF NO: 15/50/FS
SALARY : R270 804 – R 318 984 per annum. The successful candidates will be required to sign
a performance agreement.
CENTRE : Magistrate’s Offices: Bloemfontein (1), Bethlehem (1), Thaba Nchu (1) and Kroonstad (1)

REQUIREMENTS : A three year Degree or National Diploma/qualification on NQF level 6 in Finance or
Public Administration or Human Resources management or other relevant fields;
Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Public Administration including areas of
Quasi-legal services, Finance, Human Resource Management, Customer Care, Risk
and security management, Facilities management. Court experience and
understanding of accounting and operational systems (BAS, Persal,) will serve as an
added advantage. Knowledge and understanding of quasi-legal services in relation
to criminal, civil and family law, Public Finance Management Act, Public Service
Regulations, Supply Chain management including asset management, Transport
management, Facilities management and Security and Risk management; A valid
driver’s licence. Skills and Competencies: Project Management; Information
management; Reporting, monitoring and evaluation skills; Knowledge of service
delivery improvement strategies; Planning and organising skills; Communication
(including writing) with the ability to motivate and direct people; Financial
Management Skills; Strategic and conceptual orientation; Team orientated and
results driven; Interpersonal relations and customer orientation; Creative and
analytical; Problem solving and conflict management; Accuracy and attention to
detail; Ability to work under pressure, independently and proactively; Computer
literacy.

DUTIES : Key Performance Areas: Provide administrative support to the office of the Area

Court Manager. Collate, consolidate and verify court statistics, monthly returns and
reports required from the area in line with legislation, prescripts, circulars and codes,
including performance on operational plan targets and activities, audit action plans,
financial reports, court statistics and compliance certification. Implement project
plans. Coordinate administrative support to the judiciary in the courts. Support the
provision of quasi-legal services in the courts. Ensure proper records management.
Increase the efficiency of maintenance services and monitor complaints resolution in
the area, Contribute towards the achievement of a “no audit qualification”.
