SALARY : R337 998 – 398 139 per annum

REQUIREMENTS : An appropriate qualification at NQF 6 in Agriculture / a qualification in agriculture
at NQF 7 will be an advantage. At least 6 years appropriate experience of which
3 years must be at Chief or Senior Agricultural Development Technician level.
Knowledge of Agriculture Extension Methodology and Project Planning. Selfmanagement.
Financial management. People management. Change
management. Conflict management. Customer focus and responsiveness
Planning and organizing. Communication, presentation, Interpersonal skills
Advanced computer skills. A valid driver’s license is essential. Candidates will be
subjected to a competency assessment.

DUTIES : Ensure that government programs (CASP, LETSEMA, LANDCARE and LRAD
are implemented by each extension officer / advisor in the area / that tasks
performed by Extension Technicians and Advisors are in accordance with the
required norms and standards. Identify challenges and shortcomings in
Extension Services and take initiative in resolving them. Provide guidance to
Technicians and advisors. Execute tasks that require high level knowledge and
expertise Financial and HR Management. An appropriate qualification at NQF 6
in Agriculture / a qualification in agriculture at NQF 7 will be an advantage. At
