BURSARIES FOR STUDYING AT UNIVERSITIES
Who can apply? Studietrust awards access bursaries to prospective or current degree students at South African universities.
Selection criteria:
Studietrust may award bursaries to students in any field of study, but students studying towards degrees in the following fields will get preference:
º Agriculture
º Commerce
º Education
º Engineering
Preference is further given to:
• applicants from rural areas
• applicants with matric/NSC Maths and Science
• applicants with at least 60% or 4 on the NSC scale of achievement in English second language HG or English First Additional Language.
• applicants with an NSC or matric waiting for a study opportunity
• current Grade 12 learners intending to study at a university
• who maintain an average of at least 50% in all their subjects.
Bursary amount: Studietrust awards partial bursaries based on academic merit and financial need.
Annual closing date: 31 August for requesting or downloading application forms and 30 September for submitting hard copy and online applications. (more details here)
