Regional Director (South Africa) position is ideal for a candidate who is self-driven, has excellent presentation and communication skills, and who has a ‘whatever-it-takes’ approach to work.   The Regional Director is primarily responsible for sales to customers and strategic partnerships.   The role also requires someone who is skilled in educating internally – the opportunities and challenges of doing business in South Africa – and someone who can create action plans, budgets and take responsibility for making these strategic plans a reality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Formulating a strategic plan for South Africa and associated budget
  • Human Resource planning as appropriate
  • Create internal presentation material to support internal planning
  • Regular reporting to AREVA Solar
  • Represent AREVA Solar at public events and in cooperation with AREVA South Africa, to government officials and regulators (dotted lined reporting to AREVA South Africa)
  • Sale of solar boilers and turn-key solutions to customers
  • Creating and maintaining strategic alliances

Typical projects your team may work on:AREVA Solar product is a solar steam generator (boiler) that is scalable in 2.5 MWe (7.5 MWt) increments.   Primary applications for the steam generators are:

  • Steam boosters (producing steam to augment existing power plants)
  • Steam for industrial applications
  • Power generation (stand-alone) larger 50MWe – preferably 100+ MWe

We offer equipment sales (OEM model) or turn-key facilities through local or regional developers or directly to utilities, IPPs or industrial customers.

Bioenergy

Job Qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12-15 years experience in the power and/or renewable sectors
  • Successful sales and business development experience
  • Engineering and/or business development degrees
  • Strong local and regional contacts in the renewable, regulatory and power sectors
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Strong communication skills (presentations; internal updates; sales)
  • Ability to travel 25-30%
  • High ethical standards
