Exciting Arts Administration Internship on offer at the NSA. The internship will offer training that will build upon the intern’s theoretical knowledge in an applied setting.

The National School of the Arts (NSA) is seeking to appoint a young graduate with a degree or keen interest in arts administration and the performing arts for a 12-month full-time internship, funded by Cathsseta.

This exciting Braamfontein-based opportunity will see the successful candidate gain significant and invaluable hands-on practical experience as they work closely with NSA’s Advancement Unit.

Projects on which the intern will work and provide support on all levels include: the renowned multi-arts ‘Festival of Fame’, the country’s leading Youth Arts festival and winner of the BASA ‘Increasing Access to the Arts’ award; productions NSA stages at the National Arts Festival and other showcase platforms; and departmental productions and exhibitions.

Skills the intern will develop will include project administration and implementation, logistics, financial management, marketing, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, data collection, analysis and reporting.

The internship aims to refine the writing, verbal and analytical skills of the intern while fostering a sense of professionalism.

Excellent networking within the arts community and arts funding organisations will be an added benefit, all of which will contribute to the intern’s long-term career prospects within this field.

The due date for applications is Friday 15 July 2016.

Shortlisted candidates must be available for interviews between 18 and 20 July.
