A vacancy exists for an experienced CNC Programmer reporting to the Operations Manager, Atlas Copco Secoroc in Springs; South Africa.:
Major tasks of the job
·Programing of CNC lathes, milling machines and Multi-axis machine centers.
·Continuous improvement of machine efficiencies.
·Setting and machining of 1st off pieces for new jobs.
·Reduction of tooling cost.
·Manage tooling inventories.
·Optimization of cycle time using the correct tooling for the specific application
·Adherence to quality requirements as specified in the work instructions and drawings.
·Implementation of MasterCam system.
·Follow and implement Lean principles

 

Experience requirements:

·Strong background and experience of Fanuc controls
·Mazatrol and Linex control experience would be an added advantage
·Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in CNC machining environment
·Minimum of 3 years experience as CNC programmer
·Machine tool experience.

 

Knowledge:

·Ability to manually load programs on to CNC machines
·Must be able to read drawings and perform mathematical calculations to calculate feeds and speeds for cutting tools.

 

Educational requirements:

·Grade 12 qualification.
.Relevant trade qualification

·Able to employ critical thinking, logic reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems
·Strong work ethic
·Self starter and a team player
·Ability to work without constant supervision
