NOTE:

 All applicants must be legally able to work in South Africa with the correct visa/status/work permit, and be registered with SARS. Any staffs recruited locally by the BHC in South Africa are subjected to Terms and Conditions of Service according to Local South African employment Law. Main purpose of job (max 200 words):
The British High Commission in Pretoria services a wide network of Learning and Development needs in Africa. We are looking to recruit a self motivated learning and development practitioner who has experience in relationship management, design and delivery, learning needs analysis, performance consulting, facilitation, assessment and moderation. The incumbent needs to be experienced with organisational design, strategy execution and must ensure the operational success of the Regional Learning and Development Team.
Provide a breakdown of your main duties and responsibilities, and the percentage of your time they occupy:
Type of work Duties & responsibilities % of time

•Business Partner with senior management and relevant stakeholders across the region and London, to identify learning and development interventions required to achieve business performance goals and successful implementation of organisational change initiatives by:
Supporting the development of L&D strategies and plans reflecting relevant L&D interventions, that align to the Country Business Plan
Undertaking robust learning needs analyses for the Posts
Supporting the evaluation L&D interventions for return on investment against expected outcomes

 

•Design and deliver appropriate formal training and/or L&D Interventions that meet the specified needs of the organisation

•Overall accountability on local/regional/global projects to ensure quality and timely delivery, on-track budget spend, and accurate monthly financial reporting

•Active participation in knowledge and best practice sharing across the Regional L&D network

•Line management of junior staff as necessary for L&D operations
•The role requires substantial regional travel in Africa and occasional travel outside the region.
•Take part in the Embassy emergency planning and any response to a crisis affecting UK citizens.

Our preference is for a senior candidate who has managed others, can deliver leadership training and provide ‘ coaching for high performance ‘ support. This is a strategic role that is very execution driven and focuses on ensuring return on investment, transference of knowledge and self development. A number of continual professional development opportunities exist for personal growth.
