BSG (Africa) has an opportunity for a Marketing Project Manager within the Johannesburg Marketing Department.

Main Purpose of the Role:

The successful candidate will work on projects from conceptualisation to implementation. Be a key brand champion and ensure maximum brand exposure and alignment to BSG’s core business. Be responsible for the organisation of all events (client, internal and sporting). Be responsible for delivery against the Marketing SLA’s. Be responsible for the annual planning & execution of agreed project plans for all marketing related projects

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary degree, e.g. Bcom Marketing or appropriate degree plus Marketing Diploma
  • Project management training e.g. PRINCE2 (desirable)

Job Objectives:

  • Responsible for the organisation, planning and delivery of all events (client, internal and sporting)
  • Reporting (e.g. Balanced Scorecard, Service Level Agreements, Post-evaluations)
  • With the assigned resource, develop internal & external communications to support events
  • Responsible for the organisation, planning and delivery of Marketing related projects
  • Ability to provide coaching and mentoring to junior Marketing team members
  • Building of relationships among divisions / functions within the organisation as well as with key external stakeholders

Job Experience:

  • At least 6 years experience in a project and Marketing environment

Knowledge:

  • Project management principles
  • Knowledge of and experience using PRINCE2 project management methodology and an understanding of the project / system lifecycle
  • Project planning techniques
  • Relationship management
  • Knowledge of supply chain management
  • Knowledge of and relationships with suppliers / contacts
  • Knowledge of contracts and agreements
  • Knowledge of Marketing industry trends
  • Client Relationship Management & Marketing Strategy

Skills and Abilities:

  • Creative problem-solving skills – predicts problems and risks and manages them proactively
  • Ability to produce deliverables in the form of documentation consisting of detailed project plans etc.
  • Ability to execute large to medium complexity projects / events
  • Good administration skills and attention to detail
  • Good client liaison and relationship management skills
  • Ability to compile business related communication, i.e. presentations, reports, documentation and detailed email communication
  • Ability to conduct meetings
  • Development of presentations (advanced skill on all Microsoft office tools and marketing related software e.g. Photoshop)
