As a Business Development Engineer / Manager, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective product awareness to clients and internal ABB departments. ABB the world leader in offering the Low Voltage Products and systems that provide protection, control and measurement for electrical installations, enclosures, switchboards, electronics and electromechanical devices for industrial machines, plants and related service.
You as a Business Development Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
-Developing a systematic course of aggressive activities for specific purpose of developing new business within the Low Voltage Products Division.
-Identifying and developing key markets for the products.
-Assisting with marketing, design and quoting of best suited products/systems for the customer’s needs.
-Supporting channels on product knowledge and applications.
-Committing to annual product budgets and monitor orders against budget throughout the year with a view to exceeding budget targets.
-Assisting sales teams with presentations, road shows and exhibitions when required.
-Gathering competitor knowledge (market intelligence) to maintain an advantage.
-Distributing all technical literature to clients and internal ABB departments and make sure they are regularly updated.
-Keeping abreast of new product and technology developments and ensure that this information is carried over to our clients.
-Taking responsibility for specific product awareness campaigns as required by Product Managers.
-Taking responsibility for use of demo equipment and ensure that these are kept in good working order.
-Liaising with Product Management to be sure they understand our market conditions and supply us with suitable products/pricing and deliveries.
-Ensuring all activities to be logged on the CRM package available, with a minimum call rate of fifteen calls per week.
Your B.Tech / Equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience in relevant area with your deep knowledge of process industries, e.g. Petro-Chemical and Mining and of ABB products and solutions or equivalent would make you an ideal fit for this requirement.
Your passion for improving customers’ plant processes and ability to give the best possible support to them in all aspects would be a plus.
