Municipal Disaster Management Internship
Area of Training
Trained in the development of contingency Plans with and for Local Municipalities
Assists departmental staff in the development of Disaster Plan for SBDM
Trained in ensuring the functioning and objectives of Disaster Management Advisory Forum is achieved
Involvement and interacting with stakeholders in an event of a major incident or disaster
Conduct research and provision of information in respect of monitoring the functioning of Local Disaster Management Advisory Forum
Provide administrative assistance to broader division of Disaster Management
Requirements
Social Sciences, National Qualification in Disaster Management or equivalent qualification, computer literacy in all programs e.g. MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

Requirements
Tertiary qualifications: Degree OR Diploma in Developmental Studies; Social Sciences and Economics
NOTE: On appointment, Interns will be expected to sign an internship/ employment contracts with Sarah Baartman District Municipality. Graduates will be screened for suitability and residential address within the Sarah Baartman District Municipality (SBDM) and its local municipality will be verified. Should it be found that applicants misrepresented themselves they will be disqualified.
