REQUIREMENTS : An appropriate qualification at NQF level 6 in Science/Chemistry/Analytical
Chemistry/equivalent ● Proof of registration with SACNASP as a Certificated
Natural Scientist in training is compulsory upon appointment

● Knowledge of programme management, scientific methodologies, research and development

●Knowledge of legal compliance, technical report writing, professional judgment, data analysis

● Must possess generic competencies such as creativity, computer skills, customer focus, responsiveness, planning, organizing, problem solving, analysis and self-management as well as people management

● A valid Code EB driver’s license

● Candidates will be subjected to a competency asses

 

DUTIES : The incumbent will assist with implementation of methodologies, procedures related to the natural science analytical services

● Perform under supervision technical scientific functions and tasks that require basic interpretation in the presence of an established framework

● Assist in development of databases, data management and subsequent analysis of accurate raw data capturing and interpretation

● Provide technical support and advice by developing working relations with client base under supervision and promote public awareness of scientific activities

● Assist with administrative and related functions which relates to basic equipment maintenance and compile and submit reports as required

● Participate in the prescribed mentoring programme of the department.
