Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Linear Programming Planner (LP Planner) located in Chevron House, Singapore through August 2, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Position Details:     The Linear Programming Planner (LP Planner) is a member of the Value Chain Optimization (VCO) team accountable for maximizing the value across the Crude-to-Customer Supply Chain. The LP Planner’s primary responsibility is to maximize refining gross margin in close collaboration with various stakeholders, including with the Joint Venture (JV) refineries, Crude and Product Supply and Trading, Shipping, and other colleagues in the VCO team.

The focus of the LP Planner is to drive feedstock and product optimization in the JV refineries to meet or exceed performance targets by:
Understanding refinery constraints to select, purchase and deliver crude for processing in the JV refineries that result in the highest margin capture
Keeping abreast of the crude and oil products market in order to develop forward market outlook and capture margin improvement opportunities
Collaborating with the refineries to continually increase crude and product flexibility to process wide range of crude and produce different grades of products
Ensuring raw material and products optimization processes are efficient, relevant and are effective in driving margin maximization
Evaluating opportunities through the usage of Linear Programming software and recommending execution plan to capture identified opportunities
Working with JV refineries to conceptualize margin improvement opportunities, develop business case with relevant stakeholders and drive implementation of viable opportunities

Required Qualifications:

Mimimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the oil industry
Strong knowledge of refinery processes and economics, with experience in application of blending and LP tools for the optimization of refining process
Good understanding of oil industry, crude, and product markets
Independent and assertive
Strong interpersonal and facilitative skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders; ability to work well in cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications:

Chemical Engineer is preferred but candidate with relevant work experience will be considered

Relocation Options:

Relocation will be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Selected candidate will work in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
