Chevron T&O Coastal Facility Engineer Jobs

Chevron South Africa is accepting online applications for the position of T&O Coastal Facility Engineer located in Cape Town Head Office, South Africa through July 31, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Position Details:     This position is primarily a project management position, whereby the incumbent works with consulting engineers to develop projects at the coastal cluster of terminals. Once the projects are developed and approved, the Facilty Engineer is responsible for execution of the project. This includes ensuring the development of a long range project plan for the terminals in conjunction with the terminal manager. In addition the Facility engineer would assist with maintenance issues at the terminals.

The individual works in alignment with the Terminal for the Terminal operational excellence audits and meet the company’s Operational Excellence and Health Environment and Safety (OE/HES) plans.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Accountable for project development and execution of Capital Projects in coordination with Regional Engineering Support Manager, Area Operations & Transportation Managers, Terminal Managers & Aviation Coordinators, in accordance with Local Regulations, Industry and Company Global Standards. Oversight of the projects to ensure safe, on-time and on-budget performance. Responsible for monthly reviews of Actual vs. Plan and Cash Flow. Works closely with Operations Support to develop alternatives, costs and documentation for Capital Project Risk Ranking. Project documentation should be kept for Internal Audit Reviews

Accountable for development of Terminal Maintenance Program and Processes. Accountable for implementation Reliability initiatives in accordance with global standards. Accountable for Tank Cleaning and Repairing Program according to API 653 standard. Proper records and documentation should be in place. Accountable for rotary, electrical and other important equipment documentation

Maintains proficiency with Project Management and Capital Stewardship tools. Collaborates actively with Regional Engineering Support Manager, Area Operations & Transportation Managers, Terminal Managers & Aviation Coordinators, providing technical expertise for capital investments and improvements at the facilities
Manages resources required to implement and execute Capital Projects and Terminal Maintenance programs including contractors. Accountable for implementation and execution of contractor performance (on time / on budget) and Contractor Safety Management Program

Fosters and cultivates a safety culture that leads to and sustains world-class incident-free operations (results)

Required Qualifications:

Required: Engineering project management experience (3 years)
Required: Equipment Maintenance experience (3 years). Preferred: At least 3 years engineering experience
Technikon/University Degree in Engineering. Mechanical/Civil Engineering degree preferred. Other technical competency may be considered, provided that the assosciated experience is in alignment with the role
Fluency in English essential
Willing to travel

Relocation will be considered within Chevron South Africa parameters.
