Citi is an nternational financial conglomerate with operations in consumer, corporate, and investment banking and insurance. Citi South Africa recruits Senior Country Operations Officer
Develop, manage and co-ordinate the operations and technology activities for Citibank N.A. under the direct supervision of the General Manager (GM) for South Africa and the Divisional Operations and Technology Head, Africa based in South Africa.
Recommend and implement operation strategy, short term plans and objectives in line with the overall business plan developed by the GM and the EMEA Operations and Technology chain
Develop and manage short-range operations strategies and assist in developing and managing long-range operations business strategies.
Manage and achieve processing, systems, customer service and related objectives for South Africa branch, in line with business policies to meet the needs of the business and customers.
Operations and technology financial planning and financial control.
Manage human, processing and systems resources to maximize quality and quantity of service while reducing cost.
Manage the short and long term career and development of all operations and technology staff including CTI, ICGTech, CSS, CRS, CSIS.
Establish, maintain and enhance communications with the appropriate line areas. Act as the operations customer link to facilitate the flow of information, to develop the necessary support systems, and to insure the achievement of business objectives.
Manage the development of key systems and related staffing plans to evolve a technologically advanced organization.
Recommend operations process to support new business initiatives and co-ordinate the implementation with compliance and technology.
Ensure enhancement and maintenance of internal controls to reduce/control risks and to improve operations standards in Citibank N.A. South Africa.
Make quality service delivery an integral part of operating culture in the bank.
Plan and manage bank premises to provide conductive work environment for staff and service environment for our customers.

Knowledge/Experience: Minimum of 10 years cognate experience in operations management covering
Account and System Maintenance
Record Management and COB
Cash Management Operations
Control and Compliance
Conflict and priority management
Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Business or Quantitative Studies
Prior experience of managing O&T in different countries and continents.
Managing operations in a fraud prone environment.
Managing people with relatively low skill and having to upgrade these skills to provide strong and experienced operations base.
Career and development management of 90 + staff
Reviewing and managing processes to gain efficiency and productivity.
Continue to enhance and maintain good controls aimed at reducing operating risks.
Ensure proper system, product and process implementation, identify and specify new solutions, coordinate the development, test and implementation.
