Undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site investigations;
Developing detailed designs, specialising in township development and related services;
Provision of design calculations and co-coordinating of engineering drawings within time, allocated resources and budget;
Supervising tendering procedures and putting together proposals;
Managing, supervising and visiting contractors on site and advising on civil engineering issues;
Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients;
Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems;
Using computer-aided design (CAD) packages for designing projects;
Adopting all relevant requirements around issues such as permits, environmental regulations, sustainable design and safety on all work assignments;
Ensuring that a project runs smoothly and that the project is completed on time and within budget to the specified quality;

Minimum requirements for the role:
Civil Engineering or related tertiary technical qualification
Must be a member of the Engineering Council of South Africa, Registration within a year
A minimum of 5 years post qualification design experience in civil engineering in the consulting industry
Knowledge of Civil Designer Software and Civil 3D packages
Fluent in English (written/spoken), with advanced report-writing and presentation skills
Clear customer service mentality
