EMS COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER GR 3 12 POSTS REF NO: MPDOH/SEPT/14/37
SALARY : R226 560 – R259053 per annum. OSD requirements
CENTRE : Nkangala Control Centre
REQUIREMENTS : Senior (or equivalent) Certificate. ILS/ECT/ALS qualification which allows for registration with the HPCSA.Valid and current registration with the HPCSA. 7years experience in an EMS communication centre environment. Must be in possession of a code C or C1 driver’s license with a valid and up to date PDP. Computer literacy and/or knowledge is an utmost requirement. Knowledge of the Microsoft Package (Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is a must. A call centre management qualification an EMD qualification will serve a great advantage.
DUTIES : Day-to-day management of the communication centre to which the manager will be attached to. Give support to the operations manager, communication manager and shift leaders. Ensure the proper management and use of the communication centre equipment. Give guidance to the communication centre staff and hold regular meetings with them. Ensure daily statistics and monthly reports are submitted to senior management. Ensure all systems are operational in the communication centre to ensure that there is no interruption with the taking of calls and dispatching of emergency vehicles to emergencies. Regular maintenance of the two-way radio systems and all centre related technology and systems. Regular attendance of EMS management and stakeholder meetings within the EMS district structure. Ensure that communication centre staff are regularly updated with developments within the Emergency call taking and Dispatch environment.
