CSIR Meraka Institute: Technology Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation group – Internships X 2 Positions (6 months contract)

CSIR Meraka Institute (a unit of the CSIR which focuses on information and communications technology (ICT)) has vacancies for Internships. The Integrative Systems Competency Area within CSIR Meraka Institute seeks to leverage information and communication technologies towards making a lasting impact on important global developmental issues such as education and healthcare. The position is based in Pretoria.

The Technology Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation TIME research group is responsible for implementation of such technology solutions, and monitoring and evaluation of their impact with a view towards defining appropriate large-scale and sustainable implementation models.

The research unit is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Interns to gain exposure and practical work experience by conducting data collection which includes field work, business analysis, process analysis, data analysis, data mining, design and modelling in the group’s research and development projects.

Monitoring and evaluation conducted by the group are mainly in the following domains:

• ICT for Education;
• Health;
• Rural Development; and
• Agriculture.

Qualifications and skills required:

• A degree in either IT / Informatics / Information Systems / Computer Science / Computer Engineering;
• Experience in business analysis, process analysis and design is essential.
