IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN X4
SALARY : R227 802 per annum excluding service benefits (Level 8)

REQUIREMENTS : An Advanced National Certificate/Higher Certificate in IT with minimum of six years’ experience in IT end-user support OR national diploma or degree in IT with a minimum of one year’s experience in IT end-user support. An A+N+MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and skills: Understanding of Public Service Act and Regulations. Knowledge of Promotion of Access to Information Act and Minimum Information Security Standards.

Sound knowledge of various computer technologies and how they affect the business. Knowledge of customer service practices and of the organisation. Experience in audio-visual services and video conferencing, including audio-visual equipment.

Familiar with up-to-date technology and technology trends. Cable wiring and equipment set-up skills. Computer literacy in respect of MS Office Suite essential. Very good interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills.

Willingness to learn, research and teach new and/or different technologies. Personal attributes: Have initiative and be able to prioritise tasks.

Be professional and ethical, client-focused. Be a team worker, adaptable and able to work under pressure. Be willing to take responsibility for own personal development.

Have the physical strength to lift and assemble, install, operate and maintain equipment.

 

DUTIES : The incumbent will be responsible for desktop support, configuration management, and support for and maintenance of telecommunications and audio-visual facilities.
