Outputs

• Management of third party IT services to DStv Mobile.
• Measurement of vendor performance and capacity in relation to IT Services.
• Management of current vendor products for hardware, software, communications and peripherals.
• Ensure that roles and responsibilities of third parties are clearly defined, adhered to and continue to satisfy requirements
• Provide 1st and 2nd line support of DSTV Mobile systems
• Maintain and configure DSTV Mobile Systems for each system roll-out
• Maintain system architecture documentation
• Assist with testing when required
• Technical training to business
• Creation and management of General Computing Controls
• Compilation of reports
• Ensure continuous operations of systems by conducting preventative maintenance, conducting daily operational health checks, ensuring batch jobs execution
• Manage new Mobile Operator’s testing environments and process
• Deploy all new versions of software into the respective environments
• Provide communications network monitoring reports
• System setup of Production, QA and Dev environments
• Ensure systems are maintained at latest/current versions of software
• Ensure adequate backups are done
• Implement relevant ITIL best practices
• Discussing and documentation of capacity planning, performance expectations and “fine tuning” of performance.
• Provide availability, capacity, workload and resource planning documents
• Provide regular assessment of New Hardware and Software
• Ensure that system software Security, installation and maintenance is conducted
• Use and Monitoring of System Utilities
• Ensure preventative maintenance for hardware

 

Education & Experience

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Relevant Qualification
• Sound knowledge and experience of the following:

MCSE Server 2008
MCITP SQL 2008

• Microsoft Server – 5-7 years
• TCP / IP – 5-7 years
• SQL Server – 3-5 years
• IIS – 3-5 years
• ITIL / COBIT – 3-5 years
