The successful candidate will be developed to fulfil the job requirements as summarised below, but not limited to:

  • Perform general electrical engineering design for medium and low voltage installations. Including development of single line diagrams and electrical systemprotection philosophies.
  • Develop layout drawings, including lighting and small power, electrical field equipment and substation equipment layouts.
  • Develop MCC schematic diagrams and connection diagrams in E-plan.
  • Develop data sheets and specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Develop electrical cable schedules.
  • Develop electrical connection diagrams.
  • Perform electrical system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting and protection grading studies using ETAP.
  • Perform lightning protection risk assessments and lighting protection designs. Develop lightning protection and earthing layout drawings.
  • Assist with developing Bills of Material for the complete electrical installation.
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders.
  • Assist in preparing enquiries for electrical equipment and the technical adjudication of bids.
  • Assist with draughting and 3D modelling of electrical field equipment, including lighting and small power and cable racking.
  • Assist with factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Assist with electrical construction supervision and answering site technical queries.
  • Participate in the review of electrical engineering designs.
  • Review vendor design documentation for electrical equipment.
  • Interface with and understand other engineering disciplines on projects, including Control & Instrumentation, Civil, Mechanical, Piping and Process Engineering.
  • Modernise the design process by making use of the latest design software capability.
