Qualifications:

BEng / BSc Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent (NQF7/8 or 8/10)
Experience and Requirements:

2 years post qualification experience, in a maintenance environment,
Well-developed skills and experience in project management)
Knowledge and experience in the steel making process will be an added advantage

Computer literate (SAP, Microsoft Office)
Basic financial skills (budgets)
Safety conscious €“ Health, Environment, Risk (OHS Act 85 of 1993 compliance)
Sound communication and interpersonal skills

Key Performance Areas:

• Co-compile and execute strategies for improvement on plants
• Process development and improvement
• Continuous improving the availability of the plant
• Technical support to the production section
• Manage, execute and implement capital projects
• Integrate relevant Engineering disciplines
• Training and mentoring of Technicians and process experts
• Application of good maintenance principles
• Failure analyses
• Assistance with planning and scheduling of the emergency maintenance
• Team€™s activities
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• General knowledge of electrical distribution networks up to 132kV
• Knowledge of AC and DC drives, motors and generators
• Compiling of detail technical specifications
