CANDIDATE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN 10 POSTS REF NO: 08031 Directorate: Freight Transport &Transport Integrated Planning SALARY : R204 816 per annum (all inclusive package) CENTRE : Johannesburg (Head Office)

REQUIREMENTS : National Diploma in Engineering. Compulsory Registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technician. Good project management and technical report writing skills. Knowledge of legal compliance, research and development.

No previous experience required. Technical design and analysis knowledge. Computeraided engineering applications. Knowledge of transport planning, public transport, traffic engineering, freight transport, environmental & land use. Good communication (written and verbal) skills, computer literacy and team player. A valid driver’s license.

DUTIES: Assist the Technician with managing Freight projects as identified by the freight strategy. Analyze and document municipal ITP’s/ IDP’s from transport perspective. Undertake, co-ordinate and integrate transport planning. Review the existing transport network and identify areas in need of improvement.

Evaluate available reports on the transport networks. Assist in the compilation of ITP’s as per the NLTA requirements and make proposals to improve efficiently. Form part of the Gauteng Freight Forum.
