Multimedia Content Producer: eNews Online – eNews Online department (Johannesburg)
Reporting to the Multimedia Editor: eNews Online, your key performance areas will include:
Source raw and edited video and photo content from eNews Channel and agencies
Repackage and edit video content for eNews Online
Prepare and upload pre-existing content onto the web
Research and archive video and still photography material
Assist on special reports with strong interactive multimedia components
Edit and script multimedia news stories for eNews Online in a variety of formats, including news and feature-length online videos, audio slideshows, galleries and interviews
Work with the eNews Online team to develop animation, slides and sound, info graphics and other “rich-media” content to enhance the effectiveness of news stories
Create, source and edit video packages and other rich media content across eNews digital platforms
Develop and deliver strategy of multimedia news content
Excellent technical skills, including experience with industry-standard editing software, including but not limited to Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop and audio editing software.
Experience in motion graphics software, including Adobe After Effects or Apple Motion beneficial
Sound understanding of a broadcast newsroom workflow
Sound understanding of local and international multimedia video trends
Excellent editorial judgment and knowledge of photojournalistic qualities
A relevant undergraduate qualification, preferably in broadcast or online journalism
Minimum of one year’s experience in a broadcast or online newsroom
Experience, knowledge and ability to work within the standard operating procedures of a traditional newsroom
Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently
Willingness to work beyond standard work hours when stories require it
Willingness to work according to a shift system, incorporating some weekends and public holidays
