EXTENSION ASSISTANT 10 POSTS REF NO: 19/1/15
SALARY : R183 438 – 216 084 per annum all inclusive package
CENTRE : Amathole, OR Tambo, Joe Gqabi, Alfred Ndzo, Chris Hani, Western District

REQUIREMENTS : A qualification at NQF 6 in Agriculture is the minimum requirement. Computer
literacy. Knowledge of extension methodology Communication/presentation
skills. Candidates will be subjected to a competency assessment.

DUTIES : Render scientific and technical advice to internal and external clients under
mentorship to ensure sustainable development which would, inter alia the
following: Implementation of efficient methods and utilization of resources like
soil, water, veld money, etc. Demonstration of farming/production methods.
Present/organize farmer days, information sessions. Constant farm visits for
impact assessment. Source inputs from specialists are required. Provide scientist
and technical inputs are required by departmental staff
