HARDWARE TECHNICIAN X5 REF NO: K23196/18

SALARY : R 227 802.00 p.a. (level 8)

CENTRE : Potchefstroom, Mafikeng x3, Lichtenburg

 

REQUIREMENTS :

A recognized IT Tertiary qualification. Grade 12 or equivalent.5years experience in a medium to large enterprise. Cabling, Microsoft, Novell, Linux and CompTia qualifications are an advantage;

Experience in wireless networks is an advantage. Drivers license,

Strong Communication skills, Good customer relations, Ability to work independently, Ability to work under pressure and do standby, Interest in IT and Telecommunications developments.

 

DUTIES : Offer technical PC and Network support on the Local Area Network or Wide Area Network. Configure, test and install Windows PCs, printers, routers, switches and other computing peripherals.

Install and configure official software on user PCs (Antivirus, office automation, email, etc).

Train NWPG users on ICT products and services offered. Advice users on technologies, hardware and software. Configure mobile devices for network resources such as email, file sharing, etc.

Work hand in hand with Departmental IT Units to ensure standardization. Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.

Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.

Support implementation of new computer and network projects and new hardware installations.
