This role is an exciting opportunity for an HR generalist who will to provide support to the HR Business Partner in driving, implementing and delivery of quality people services. The role requires a person who is highly energetic and self motivated to support the business unit objectives and people priorities.

The role reports to the HR Business Partner based in our Johannesburg office to assist with all HR initiatives. Consistency and confidentiality in this role are crucial as all tasks and duties will be around people and for people at any given moment.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management
Execute performance management processes as set by the Firm
Identify and assist in resolving issues that arise from the performance management process by being visible
Act as a liason if there are any concerns or issues that may arise
Providing insight and value around people issues, demonstrating a robust and professional approach
Employee Relations
Reporting into and consulting with the national ER team; responsible for managing employee relations in CBS (Core Business Services), including but not limited to; acting as consultant to line managers in managing poor performance as well as overseeing misconduct and disciplinary procedures in compliance with legal requirements.

Recruitment

Assist in identifying and monitoring recruitment needs and be a liaison with the recruitment team to ensure timely filling of positions and smooth running of process



Assist with sourcing of candidates through networks
Attend candidate interviews( screening and final) as a BU-HR representative
Assist with the integration of new joiners induction processes and associated administration procedures operate effectively
In consultation with HR business partner and business unit leaders devise and regularly update the service line or competency

Manpower plan

Regular updates and reporting to the HR business partner on the recruitment status updates
Assist with facilitating and adhering to recruitment policies & processes ( internal transfers, referral bonuses, assessments, etc)
Learning and Development
Maintain a good relationship with Learning and Development Team at the centre and consult appropriately when required on matters relating to learning maps and nominations for learning/training interventions.
Represent and be the point of contact for and on behalf of CBS
Attend all learning forums as set up by central learning and development
Facilitate or assist with facilitating business unit required learning or training when required
Co-ordinate and run BU specific monthly New Joiner induction programme
Operational deliverables
General administration, including but not limited to completion of relevant forms or documents required by the people centre.
Provide monthly payroll input as required by the business
Deliver on MIS (Management Information System) and reporting
Data integration checking
Ensure excellence of quality of information as provided by the people centre
Partnering with the people centre and payroll
Adhering and assisting in enabling the execution of people strategic objectives
Providing insight and value around people issues
Act as a custodian of the diversity and inclusiveness objectives as set out in the Firm’s strategy
Be able to identify people specific projects relevant to business unit needs

Requirements
Relevant Human Resources qualification
1-2 years Human Resources related experience.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to liaise with people at all levels, develop strong working relationships and networks.
Strong organisational and project management skills
Attention to detail
Self-motivated and ability to work well both independently and within a team
Robust and assertive, able to handle conflicting demands and priorities in a professional, unbiased way
Be change resilient and a true change agent
Evidence of seeking continuous improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to deal with conflict resolution
Maintain confidentiality
High emotional intelligence
Maintain professional maturity and integrity
Team player
Sharing best practice, continual research and knowledge sharing with national HR team as well as the client.
Be able to work long hours
