Candidates are hired by a specific business division or support function, which in turn provides graduates with a well-defined career path. Trainees may travel and rotate around various offices, as required specifically by their respective hiring division. My client expects trainees to be mobile, and always be willing to learn and contribute.
What is a Trader?
Commodity Traders buy and sell physical commodities such as grain, coffee, sugar etc.
They trade on behalf of product producers and buyers
They deal in derivatives (futures and options), which are based on physical commodities
Bring together buyers and sellers of commodities to negotiate private sales and arrange sales through established market places
Duties of a Trader may include the following:
Planning of buying and selling activities
Negotiating the purchase and sales of commodities
Monitoring local and international commodity prices, market trends and other factors affecting the supply and demand of commodities
Arranging transport, storage and initial processing of products purchased
Arranging arbitrage of stocks and contracts
Monitoring world market and following financial news and developments
Conducting trades on behalf of the client
Advising clients on the best way to position themselves within markets
Seeking and pursuing new business opportunities
Discussing and agreeing prices, quality, delivery and specifications
Maintaining contact with shipping, transport and insurance companies
Capturing traders deals on a daily position (Futures and options)
Capturing over the counter contracts (Forward purchases / sales and physical settlements)
Generating trading positions
Monitoring trading positions and exposures on a daily basis
Calculating daily profit and loss reports
Daily positions reporting to regional and global office
Liaison with other global offices
Monitoring and reporting margin positions

Requirements:
· BComm Degree in Agricultural Economics, Finance, Risk Management and International Trade
· Full bilingual (English / Afrikaans)
· Hands on
· Fast paced
· Diverse

Salary:
Negotiable
