Purpose of the role:
To provide key support to the business and extract maximum value from the information technology platform, specifically its SAP system. Provide first (1st) line SAP support and assist the business to implement new projects and system enhancements.
? Must have completed a minimum relevant IT/Business educational qualification (Bsc, Bcom Degree/ Diploma).
? Must be Computer literate (MS Office, Excel, Word)
? At least 1 year experience in SAP BW or similar Business Intelligence tool will be advantageous
Duties & Responsibilities
1. On-the-job Training Program
Take ownership of own development program by ensuring that it is documented and agreed with Line Manager within 1 month from date of employment
Drive completion of all tasks listed in the Functional (IT) induction program
Agree and schedule knowledge transfer sessions with allocated coach/business analyst.
2 Drive Continuous Business Improvement initiatives
Identifies Continuous Business Improvement opportunities within the business unit / business area.
Quantifies saving & efficiencies related to these Business Improvement Opportunities for submission to the Business Analyst/Application Manager.
Implements business enhancements as per business projects function
Assist in improving & streamlining business processes & preparing business process documentation
Support the Business Analyst in identifying IT application solutions to address key Business requirements within functional area.
Work with the Business Analyst to assess current IT capabilities and identify high-level customer requirements.
Quantify savings and efficiencies related to these IT application opportunities and draw up Business Case documentation for submission to the Application Manager.
3 End-User Support and Training
Assist end users to resolve SAP BW issues across the Vector Business.
Resolve calls logged on service management system within agreed SLA.
Provide clear problem definition and liaise with necessary technical experts/external consultants to resolve issues related to the respective systems.
Work in conjunction with learning team and super users to deliver and where required conduct end user training on existing and new System functionality.
Create and maintain user training manuals and e-learning material in conjunction with the Business Analyst, business (super users) and learning team.
Conduct user assessments with the business users following training or as required
Analyse reports on user knowledge and skills gaps provided by the learning team to identify training needs.
Work in conjunction with the learning department to roll out ongoing end user training as required.
4 Application Development, Enhancement and Implementation
Participate in relevant meetings with relevant Business representatives to establish, understand and document detailed Business requirements to be met by the project.
Compile scope definition document as well as functional specification document and ensure that full sign off is achieved prior to implementation.
Review and analyse technical specification documents with the Business Analyst prior to sign off by the Applications Manager and handover to developer(s).
5. Project Management
Execute allocated tasks by required deadline, within defined quality standards for all business/IT projects
Assist with the calculation of the business case and return on investment with relevant Business users and stakeholders.
Prepare the project charter and plan by engaging all relevant parties.
Plan for project-related hardware and software requirements by liaising on an on-going basis with the infrastructure team and external software supplier(s).
Compile and store project documentation (including business process flow charts, technical specifications, end user training material and project plans).
Ensure constant communication with business analyst, developers and full testing of the solution and identify and resolve problems or constraints prior to user acceptance testing.
Report on realisation of the Business case and identified KPI’s.
Provide post-implementation guidance and support to all end-users.
6 Configuration and Development
Compile/update technical specification for modules within agreed best practices and process
Perform basic configuration on SAP BW in line with agreed specification.
Troubleshoot SAP BW user errors and implement preventative measures
7 System User Profile Maintenance
Communicate with authorisations team to assist with creation and maintenance of user profiles in system in keeping with risk and audit standards.
Review and authorise user access for new and existing users via the User Authorisation Request (UAR) workflow in consultation the with business analyst.
Assist with resolving user profile audit queries.
8 System Auditing
Assists the Business in defining their reporting requirements.
Develop appropriate reports as requested by the Business.
Maintain and proactively enhance reports.
10 Technical Expertise
Provide on-going advice and support on best practice to ensure continuous improvement within Business systems and applications.
