M-Net Channels seek to appoint a suitably qualified individual to assume the role of Commissioning Intern: Independent Films & Local Productions, to assist on a variety of local television and film productions, bubblegum films, traffic & administrative duties.

This position reports to the Head of Local Productions & Independent Filmsand will be based  at Local our offices in Randburg.

  • OUTPUTS
  • Support and assist the Commissioning Assistant and Content Specialist
  • Originate, develop and commission innovative new programmes
  • Generate ideas and identify fresh territories and themes for exploration
  • knowledge and understanding of recent broadcasting output, audience, schedule, presentation, and strategic vision
  • Excellent understanding of legal/compliance guidelines
  • Receive tapes and FCC sheets and music cues (SAMRO norm)
  • Record tape number and details
  • Share/Distribute tape info
  • Deliver physical tape to library
  • Conclude Wipe and reloads
  • Follow up with production houses
  • Resolve non-TX tapes

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED.

  • 3 year degree or National Diploma in Film and Television or Television Broadcasting
  • Computer skills
  • Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
  • Editing skills and Final Cut Pro will be an advantage
