Magnet Communications currently has a vacancy in its Johannesburg office for a Key Accounts Manager. Magnet Communications is South Africa’s leading employer branding specialist and forms part of Universum Communications – the Global leader in employer branding. (Magnet has offices in Cape Town andJohannesburg and Universum has offices in Stockholm, Cologne, London, Philadelphia and Shanghai.) Magnet counts most of South Africa’s top companies among its clients.
Magnet offers a dynamic work environment that keeps both its employees and its blue chip clients at the cutting edge of employer branding. The Magnet Sales function requires successful candidates to be adept at maintaining current relations with a group of existing clients and, more importantly, creating new relations with companies that form part of our annual research as well as companies that do not form part of our research, but may want to improve on their employer brand. People skills and presentation skills are not advantageous, but a prerequisite for this post.
The role of Key Accounts manager will involve booking meetings and conducting meetings with local and multinational corporations who are mainly based in Johannesburg. Booking meetings will sometimes involve “cold-calling” of clients, however the uniqueness of our research allows us to attract new clients rather easily. Since we are the only company in South Africa that conducts this sort of research in South Africa, on the scale that we do, a successful Key Accounts manager will have close relations with clients and subsequently attend meetings for most of the week. They will otherwise be in the office corresponding with clients or preparing for Management consulting workshops with clients.
Magnet Communications believes that commission is imperative to maintain a sales drive in our Key Accounts Managers and therefore a competitive basic salary plus commission is paid on all products.
Please note: this role will involve a short training period in Johannesburg, a temporary period of employment for three months with a view to permanently employ the candidate thereafter, and a possible kick-off sales conference in Stockholm, Sweden in August for the successful candidate.
