MAIN PURPOSE
To create and run effective marketing campaigns to support the Vodacom Post Paid and HVC. This involves developing a detailed understanding of the target customer behaviour and what benefits Post Paid can bring to them, and how best to communicate this both by advertising and PR activities.

JOB OBJECTIVES
Creating marketing campaigns which grow the Post Paid business
Working closely with advertising agencies and others to determine the best messages and executions to enthuse various customer bases
Choosing appropriate media to best communicate with the customer, especially in rural areas and townships
Gaining a strong understanding of current and potential Post Paid customers’ and identifying the compelling reasons why they might use Post Paid
Briefing and agreeing media plans with the agencies
Day to day management of a direct report data analyst
Using data analysis, competitor research and market research to identify issues and opportunities in the market
Working closely with the regions to deliver successful tactical activities
Supporting Sales requirements for specific trade activities and materials
Working closely with other Vodacom teams to create synergistic opportunities for promoting products jointly to maximize the reach of the budget
Create tactical advertising to support new functionality and new key trade partners
Working closely with Corporate Comms, Media Relations and the PR team to create successful PR campaigns and manage any PR issues
Exploit PR opportunities as they arise including awards, conferences and press
Ensuring that Post Paid marketing falls within the Vodacom corporate marketing umbrella and is consistent with the key Vodacom branding and messaging
Recommending the best use of the available marketing budget and motivating to supplement any shortfall
Ensuring that all POS materials are available in suitable quantities and kept up to date

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

3 year / degree in Marketing / Public Relations / Communication / B Com in Marketing (Essential)
Post graduate in Management/marketing/Public Relations/Communication Science (Desirable)
4-5 years experience in the fields of Marketing / Public Relations / Communication / Media Relations
Minimum of 5 years experience overall at management level & 2 years for management / supervisory experience
