Sappi Ngodwana seeks to place a suitably qualified Mechanical Technician to plan, lead, organise and control maintenance personnel and resources in his area of responsibility by implementation of correct planned maintenance techniques and quality systems , also through effective teamwork strive to achieve optimum plant availability and efficiency in the most cost effective manner
Minimum Requirements
National Diploma Mechanical Engineering
3 years’ experience in a heavy industrial environment
Pulp and Paper experience will be advantageous
Exposure to and knowledge of Industrial / plant hydraulics will be an advantage
Job Specification
Undertake and lead engineering tasks investigatory project (e.g. failure analysis) of specialist technical nature by application of specialised knowledge and leadership skills
Provide technical support to analyse breakdowns as required
Manage various multi-disciplinary plant modifications from concept to commissioning and close out phase, using both internal and external resources as required
Manage costs for modifications and projects
Conduct detailed asset management, inventory, cost control and budgeting
Assume responsibility for assisting with Hydraulics fault finding – plant specific and Mill wide

SAP will be advantageous
Computer skills – Full Microsoft Office Package
