Mercedes Benz South Africa: Analyst Component Export

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Cost calculation of export components and project support
• Responsible for controlling and reporting of component export business
• Analyse local market to explore further export possibilities
• The cost calculation contains:
– Overall responsibility of reference calculations for localisation purposes
– Viability calculations to support localisation decisions
• Comparison of global costs and evaluation of cost benefit.
• Evaluation of Local Content for model series, key components and parts.
• In coordination with development, Purchasing, Suppliers, Germany and the Plant, generate measures for the optimization of products and costs (material cost efficiency)
• Initiate continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and quality of processes
• Support Make or Buy decisions
• Compile special reports and/or comparisons for Germany
• Lead interdisciplinary projects
• Apply GAAP and DAG accounting principles in a manner which is in compliance with the Company’s Integrity & Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy and S.H.E. requirements as well as perform delegated S.H.E. tasks and duties and inform superior about deviations

 

Skills

• Sound knowledge of costing methods and tool calculations
• Good knowledge of automotive technology and components
• Sound knowledge of MS Office Applications
• Knowledge of automotive supplier landscape in South Africa
• Good communication and presentation skills in German/English
• Project management skills
• Minimum basic German knowledge
• Willingness to work in a team and in an international work environment
• Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function

 

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry, with extensive knowledge of product development and controlling, customer ordering, material purchasing and contract awarding processes,
• Good negotiation skills.

 

Education

• Minimum NQF 7 (New) – Degree in Accounting / Business Science / Engineering/ or relevant equivalent with proven management accounting competence
