Murray & Roberts Plant wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join the division on a permanent basis.

Murray & Roberts Plant is currently looking at recruiting for the following positions:

The company requires candidates for the following apprenticeships for registration with CETA in January 2016:

  1. Earthmoving Equipment Mechanics (Diesel Trade Theory)
  2. Boilermakers
  3. Auto Electricians

Suitable candidates need to meet the following requirements:

  1. Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science, a Language and a RELEVANT Trade Theory OR
  2. Completed N3 with RELEVANT Trade Theory OR
  3. Completed NCV4 with RELEVANT Trade Theory and Mathematics
  4. Valid Code 8 / B Driver’s Licence
  5. Previous Technical or Mechanical experience/ knowledge would be an advantage

Potential candidates will be required to undergo some Technical testing, Hand-Eye Coordination testing and other relevant tests prior to being accepted onto the Section 13 Apprenticeship programme.

Suitable candidates will be registered with CETA for the applicable Section 13 Apprenticeship. They will be required to attend compulsory Theory weeks at a FET institution and complete the required practical training and logbooks throughout the apprenticeship.

The Apprenticeship will be for a period of four (4) years and candidates will have to pass the applicable Trade Test in order to qualify as an Artisan at the end of the apprenticeship period. There will also be a contracted work back period required on completion of the Trade Test.

Suitable candidates will be based at the workshops in Amalgam, Johannesburg, however, they should be willing to spend up to six (6) months per year on a country site.
