NBI
The National Business Initiative (NBI) is a business based not-for-profit organisation working with government and business to mediate business strategy and action towards sustainable growth and development in transition to a green economy. The NBI is also the regional partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), country partner to the CDP and We Mean Business, as well as the convening local network to the UN Global Compact (UNGC). The NBI’s Environment and Society team explore the role of collective action in environmental sustainability and the interaction the environment has with our society and economy. The team focusses on climate change, water and the green economy.

Programme Manager – Climate and Water
PERFORMANCE AREAS
The NBI is in search of two individuals who are passionate about contributing to sustainable growth and development. They will use their background in environmental studies, business, economics, engineering or science to support the full variety of programmes the NBI runs in climate change, water and the green economy. Support will range from research, event planning, document writing and stakeholder management. On the job experience in our work areas will be supplemented by specific training and mentoring as well as interactions with companies from the full range of sectors represented by NBI membership.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & TRAINING
· A degree in environmental management, economics, engineering or science.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
· Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
· A high level of numeracy
· A willingness to learn and a strong interest in the environment and the role of business in society
PACKAGE
This is a fixed term one year contact and remuneration will be in line with market expectations of an internship.
