Several Agronomist positions are available at Omnia’s Agriculture division in Kwazulu-Natal, Free State, the Eastern Highveld and Eastern Cape (technical representative). Candidates should be familiar with crops in the areas.If you have recently graduated with a BSc degree and looking for workplace experience, then this opportunity is for you.

Omnia’s Agriculture division, the market leader in southern Africa, comprises Omnia Fertilizer and Omnia Specialties. The division produces granular, liquid and specialty fertilizers for a broad customer base of farmers, co-operatives and wholesalers throughout southern and East Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil.

 

Requirements:

A minimum of a BSc (Agric) with Botany and Soil Science or majoring in Agronomy

Sound knowledge of fertilizer and chemical products with fertilization recommendations in mind

Excellent language skills (verbal and written)

Presentation skills

Computer literacy

Interest in a dynamic marketing environment

Good grasp of the concepts of “client needs” and “adding value”.

 

Experience

Previous, similar experience will be a definite advantage

 

Functions:

Provide professional fertilization and agronomic advice to farming enterprises

Provide strategic support to Omnia representatives/agents

Work in close cooperation with Omnia Regional Management

Function as an integral part of and be central to the Omnia Marketing model.
