We have an opportunity for an experienced Sales Engineer to support the Field Sales organization during the pre-sale selling cycle; providing pre-sales system design consultation. The Sales Engineer (SE) works closely with the Field Sales Account Team to ensure that Openwave products are presented and, if applicable, demonstrated to their full effect.

The SE develops and applies methods and research to provide solutions to technical inquiries; and may provide technical input to the development of customer requests for proposals. The SE performs post-sales activities to promote ongoing customer satisfaction an he/she must position themselves to recognize new technology opportunities (product features and customizations) and drive these opportunities within the Account and Product Teams.

Job Position requirements
– Contributes to the achievement of Sales bookings/revenue targets for the department/region and/or account(s) as established by management team.
– Builds and manages the technical relationship with customer’s technical personnel at peer levels.
– Maintains technical knowledge of Openwave product offerings; including the ability to articulate the value of the product through presentations and demonstrations; recognized as a subject matter expert and is specialized in multiple products/solutions.
– Demonstrates high-level of business understanding
– Articulates solutions for complex customer situations
– Identifies and explores new business opportunities
– Evaluates feasibility and assists in qualification of prospects
– Seen as a technical expert and able to provide technical coaching
– Actively participates with the Account Team to complete RFP responses; takes accountability for the technical sections of customer proposals.
– Supports the demonstration and project management of system trials and evaluations of numerous Openwave products at a customer site; as required.
– Understands and is able to articulate the customer’s system architecture.
– Supports the demonstration and project management of system trials and evaluations of numerous Openwave products at a customer site; as required.
– Works closely with direct manager or opportunity lead (Global Services or Sales) to agree upon account strategy for winning the technical buyers in the account; takes responsibility for executing assigned portion of this strategy.
– Documents, and gains agreement from the customer, for customization requests; works closely with Global Services partner to create the Statement of Work (SOW).
– Liaises with Product Management and other Systems Engineers to gain a strong understanding of Openwave’s current and future products.
– Archives customer-related documentation onto the appropriate Intranet Share Point site for shared Account Team use.
– Participates in departmental team meetings and one-on-one meetings with direct manager.
