An established power company is in search of an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of three renewable power plants (one wind, two solar) that are presently under construction.

Duties: Principle technical advisor to MD; oversee safety, environment, technical, operational and maintenance aspects of three renewable energy plants. Assist with the administration of O&M contractors, power purchase agreement, and related contracts; Supervision of technical personnel; Responsible for drawing up the O&M cost budgets and ensuring that plants operate within their approved budgets.

Requirements: Must have electrical or mechanical engineering degree or equivalent. PR Eng or GCC holder an advantage.  Significant experience with operations management of power generation or similar plant. Demonstrated knowledge of safety, health and environmental requirements. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience with contract administration, including the preparation of tenders and evaluations of bids. Able to travel frequently within South Africa and occasionally internationally.
