Requirement Overview We are currently seeking to appoint a Payroll Clerk for our City Deep, Johannesburg business unit. Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Practitioner, the ideal candidate will manage the full payroll function on site.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Accurate and timeous capturing of all relevant payroll data for payment purposes
• Processing all payroll deductions
• Preparing third party schedules for payment
• Addressing and resolving employees’ payroll queries timeously
• Benefit administration (E.g. applications of new provident fund members, complete provident fund withdrawal forms, follow-up on payments, management of employee medical aid details, etc.)
• Accurate and timely submission of payroll information and ad hoc reports for monthly reporting purposes
• Liaise with line management and Human Resources regarding all payroll related matters and queries
• Monitor and review information on the payroll system to ensure all information is accurate and up to date
General administrative duties, including up to date keeping of employee files
• Assist with day-to-day Human Resources functions

Educational Requirements
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Payroll Management or similar
• Completed short courses in tax and/or benefits administration

Experience Requirements
• Payroll system experience – Experience in Resource Link payroll system will be an added advantage
• Management of an electronic timekeeping system – Essential
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience in fortnightly/weekly payroll administration – ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Generalist human resources experience

Skills & Competencies
• A flair for dealing with customers (internal employees, department managers as well as national office)
• Deadline driven and delivering under extreme pressure
• Planning and organising – essential
• Strong attention to detail – essential
• Strong financial and administration skills – essential
• Computer Skills: MS Office, advanced MS Excel and similar payroll system
• Basic knowledge of all labour legislation
