  • Provide accounting services by administering deals including facilitating payments and receipts for activities performed within TS&L Division to ensure the efficiency of operational activities and enable adequate financial planning

  • Process requisitions for issuing of tenders, extending periods and / value of existing contract by capturing details on SAP to ensure efficiency of service delivery and enable the generation of a purchase order number
  • Issue cash flow report to Finance and Treasury to inform of significant payments due to suppliers in relation to products and freight required to ensure funds are available when payments are due
  • Verify prices and volumes against contract or deal sheet and SAP to facilitate payment of all invoices for the product or materials received at the depots
  • Submit all verified and approved invoices to Finance for payment to ensure timely settlement of invoices and proof of payment for large amounts
  • Coordinate and facilitate the crude oil, depot sales and petrochemical sales transaction by ensuring that the system reflects commercial and contractual terms, security in place (letter of credit), appropriate documentation is consolidated for Finance to prepare invoices in order to issue invoices to banks / counterparties, to ensure the receipt of funds on the due date
  • Prepare commercial invoices for clearing purposes for petrochemical product movement from Mossel Bay to local and international storage locations and facilities to ensure customs requirements are met
  • Liaise with treasury to verify compliance with exchange control requirements, obtain bank statements for Customer Foreign Currency (CFC) account and provide Treasury with unique consignment reference (UCR) reconciliations as required by the Reserve Bank, obtain evidence of payments for foreign currency invoices, verify applications for security of payments (Letter of Credit (LC), payment undertaking etc), obtain a signatory for request to buy product, allocation of bank charges (LC costs), and provide treasury with relevant UCR number in order for the bank to allocate foreign receipts relating to product exports to PetroSA’s bank accounts
  • Prepare a crude sales revenue report summary to indicate revenue, volume sold, price, exchange rate to ensure payment of royalties to PASA (Petroleum Agency of South Africa)
  • Prepare monthly accrual report and forward to Finance for processing in SAP to ensure all costs and revenue for services rendered and delivered are accounted for in the month they were incurred
  • Establish and maintain an electronic and hard-copy filing system to store all commercial and strategic deals to ensure accurate record keeping for reference purposes
  • Provide input into the design and identification of systems/ interventions that will deliver at minimal cost to ensure cost optimisation in accordance with PetroSA policies and procedures to ensure business improvement and best practise (when assisting – KPI must be % customer feedback)
  • Provide input and adhere to service level agreements (SLA’s) and performance with internal customers to ensure service standards and efficiency levels are met, regular feedback is received from users, and all performance deviations actioned in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to service delivery
  • Provide input in to the identification and maintenance of a detailed departmental risk register in compliance with all regulatory, safety and environmental requirements to ensure risks are addressed and mitigated accordingly in a timely manner
  • Provide input into the development and implementation and adhere to departmental policies, procedures and work practices to ensure compliance and alignment within the division
  • Implement SHEQ, good housekeeping and general office procedures to ensure that the workplace is kept clean and safe for operation at all times and ISO requirements met
  • Contain expenditure within the budget guidelines and implement cost reduction initiatives to ensure that funds are optimally utilised in service delivery
  • Provide accounting related information and advice to internal and external customers for relevant action to be taken to ensure quality customer service
  • Manage the development and implementation of a personal learning and growth plan to ensure continued development

  • National Diploma in Accounting

  • 2 – 3 years accounting experience

  • Oil Industry experience would be advantageous
  • This position is on a grade SS11
