Job Qualifications Needed:

BSc Civil Engineering Degree or Technikon equivalent
Professional Registration Pr Eng., Pr Tech (Eng.), MSAICE, ECSA or equivalent affiliation

Years of Experience

Minimum 15 years relevant experience

Type of Experience

Recognised by the market as an established consultant in their own right.
Have an established network of contacts (in client and other organizations), management level executives in businesses/ government.
Expertise and experience to level of an independent consultant in the field of hydrological modeling, storm water management, river engineering, risk assessment and disaster management.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Manage complex projects; prioritizes tasks for self and others; meets deadlines, budgets and commitments; delegate effectively (projects would be focused mainly of flood risk assessment, storm water management for both the Municipal sector, Mining houses and as well as private developers)
•Carry out conceptual/detailed designs of storm water control and pollution control measures
•Expected to create work for a variety of disciplines within the Company
•Continuously seek opportunities for SRK with existing and potential clients; actively search out new business opportunities
•Maintian a good network of contacts
•Seek to promote his/her name and the name of the Group by the publication of technical papers/articles
•Where possible, present papers at conferences and seminars
•Able to manage multi-disciplinary projects and teams of Scientists, Technologists and Junior Engineers
•Perceive changing conditions and anticipate with action
•Set clear, challenging and realistic goals; gain commitment from employees, peers and clients; demonstrate sound decision making; act as a mentor and provide coaching to other employees
•Should be capable of producing technical reports/drawings and have excellent presentation skills
•Should be capable of reworking reports produced by his/her juniors to bring these up to expected standards.
