The Investor Marketing Specialist plays a pivotal role in developing and executing the investor strategy as social impact, private and alumni investors are a key pillar in the expansion of the Prodigy Finance global platform. You have the opportunity to bring to life a differentiated investment product, which delivers both a social and a financial return, in a market which is looking for differentiation.

You will drive the growth of the investor community, both online and offline, whilst working closely with the Head of Investor Relations and the Head of Marketing. Further to this you will shape the strategy which targets alumni, social impact investors as well as Family Offices.

What you will do in the role  

You will own the development and execution of a strategic marketing plan which increases the investment community. You will have the support of a junior brand manager, whilst working collaboratively with our Investor Relations team, our Business Development team, based across Cape Town, London and New York. Additionally, you will work with our digital manager, content and PR manager as well as our head of design to develop differentiated break through communications which deliver on the strategic objectives of the business.

Prodigy Finance doesn’t just need just a Marketing Specialist; we need someone who understands financial products, can talk the language, and who wants to work on a pioneer brand.

Specific responsibilities are:

  • Investor strategy development, and execution, across alumni and private investors online and offline
  • Multiple Campaign Management & Implementation across multiple channels
  • Partnership identification and development
  • Driving creative development
  • Ownership of investor content development as well as channel identification and optimisation
  • Content ownership of social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Google +, and other social profiles along with the Digital Marketing Manager
  • Reporting and analysis on all marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Reporting on all marketing metrics against targets, and assisting with setting targets
  • Assisting with budget planning, and responsible for budget updates
  • Quarterly competitor analysis
  • Working with the Communication & Content Manager to ensure relevant PR, media and event opportunities (created and existing) are identified and leveraged
  • Working with, and supporting, both the PR and Digital agencies with relevant and compelling content
  • Monitoring current affairs in FinTech, and student lending bodies. The ideal candidate will bring practical and real life thinking to these topics

 What you need to be great at:

  • Highly organised and able to multi-task and collaborate; can correctly prioritise multiple issues, can process large amounts of information from disparate sources
  • Able to work autonomously without micro-management and clear direction, in a rapidly changing and often ambiguous environment; possess the self-motivation and inner drive to set and deliver against tight deadlines
  • Highly presentable with good communication and interpersonal skills across a number of stakeholder groups
  • Creating and partnering to develop high quality solutions and then seeking to incrementally improve them
  • Deep understanding of the finance category, talk the talk, both from a product as well as language perspective
  • Can use initiative to interact with diverse groups to gain positive publicity for our company, product and content
  • Start-up DNA; resilient, 80/20, carpe diem, gets things done, adaptable to change, huge capacity for hard work in a relentlessly fast paced environment

  • Start-up experience – Sometimes the earth moves beneath your feet at Prodigy Finance so you’ve got to be comfortable with ambiguity, able to wear lots of hats, and adapt easily as you set up processes and frameworks for us to grow into
  • Ideally you would have worked in a fintech startup and managed a financial brand/product
