Motivation
With the organisational restructuring of OneTechnology, there is a requirement to provide technology support for cross Line of Service initiatives such as the Google project, Contact to Cash and the Innovation initiatives. As such, we require a senior business analyst/assistant manager to assist with the specification, testing and implementation of these projects and support of this area of the firm in terms of technology alignment and application. Currently there is no support available for these kinds of projects as the other staff are fully allocated to their respective business units.

Main Purpose

OneTechnology Assistant Manager – Business Engagement

We have a requirement to provide technology support for cross Line of Service initiatives. We require a senior business analyst/assistant manager to assist with the specification, testing and implementation of these projects and support of this area of the firm in terms of technology alignment and application.

Job Description

OneTechnology provides for the technology requirements for PwC’s internal service lines which include Assurance, Advisory, Tax and IFS (Internal Firm Services). Specifically, this position supports the cross Line of Service portfolio.

The Main Responsibilities For The Person In This Position Include

  • Support the business unit relationship manager in achieving their targets for the financial year by assisting them directly with any activities required to ensure the operational performance of the team.
  • Perform quality reviews of business analyst outputs on projects
  • Assist the project sponsors with drafting business cases and presenting those to OneTechnology management
  • Has a deep understanding of several, if not all, products within the business unit supported and ensure delivery on product requirements
  • Ensure that the supporting product processes are optimised and updated according to change requirements
  • Liaise with the managers and project management office (PMO) on task progress and responsible for drafting and managing project plans where required
  • Review service reports provided from support desk (1st and 2nd line support teams), analysis of issues regarding service support, and resolution or escalation of those issues
  • Mentoring and coaching of OneTechnology staff.
  • Assist with senior business analysis requirements as needed:
  • Requirements gathering, specification and implementation of changes to critical technology products and large new solution requirements
  • Runs Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions and takes on the Product Owner role in Scrums
  • Identifies and models end-to-end business and system processes, including impacted stakeholders, across multiple systems and environments
  • Management of multiple medium to large-sized projects and junior/intermediate business analyst deliverables
  • Administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of critical technology products as required for 3rd line support
  • Ability to identify and manage downstream and upstream impacts of product changes
  • User management e.g. dealing with queries, report requests, user feedback
  • Liaising with team members and project stakeholders within OneTechnology and business units
  • Working closely with other OneTechnology quadrants e.g. development and infrastructure
  • Logging and documentation of user requests when funneled through the Business Engagement team
  • Functional and system testing
  • Data quality analysis and remediation where applicable to OneTechnology responsibility areas for products and processes
  • Provide training of technology products to 2nd line support staff (AppOpps) and business users
  • Documentation of help and guidelines relating to the use and support of technology products
  • Documentation of knowledge records in the OneTechnology knowledge repository
  • Documentation of product installation and administration routines
  • Contribute innovative ideas for the use of technology and improvement of processes within OneTechnology and the business units

  • Experience in end-to-end process and data modelling, including the identification of upstream and downstream impacts across functions
  • High level of commitment and strong work ethic
  • Software development and technology architecture knowledge
  • Industry knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Visio, Project Enterprise, Team Foundation Studio (user stories)
  • Able to identify risks and escalate issues

Qualifications

 

  • BCom, BTech or BSc focused on Information Technology / Information Systems
  • Business analysis industry certification
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Project management industry certification
  • Agile (Scrum) Product Owner certification
  • Process management and optimisation industry certification advantageous

Experience

 

  • 6-7 years’ experience in business analysis and project administration
  • Experience in the use of software and process modelling methodologies and tools
  • Experience in the use of project management techniques and methodology
  • Experience in the financial services industry advantageous
  • Experience working in ITIL-focused IT organisations
  • Experience working with Scrum, and specifically as a Product Owner
  • Experience managing small teams
