A position has recently become available for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

BEng or BSc. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering
Supervisory or management training is essential.
GCC Certificate if incumbent wants to be considered for a GMR 2.1 appointment

 

Experience

5-8 year’s maintenance experience in technologically advanced production equipment

 

Knowledge

Ability to use modern engineering techniques for analysis and design
An ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and apply modern theories
Understanding of ethical and professional responsibility
Project Management
Governance and Risk
Lean/Six Sigma

 

Skills

Work in a multi-disciplinary team
The ability to maintain a sound theoretical approach in enabling the introduction and maintenance of new technology
Use a wide range of tools, techniques, and equipment (including software)
Business Acumen
Analytical in the formulation and solutions of problems

 

Job Specification

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS (Not limited to):
Execution of Maintenance Strategy

Responsible for translating the maintenance strategy into a section action plan which ensures alignment with the company strategy

 

Project Management

Ensures projects are carried out according to company policies & procedures
Provides support to external service providers with regards to installations/repairs and maintenance
Ensures minimum disruption of production.

 

Work Process Improvements

Evaluates maintenance processes to optimise and improve performance.
Leads root cause analyses and develops action plans for identified problems for corrective action.
Investigates problems and develops solutions and modifications to be carried out on machinery.

 

Repairs and Maintenance

Finds the most effective means of maintenance and repairs
Conducts analysis regarding cost, time and impact on production
Responsible for conducting cost analysis when comparing repairs vs. replacement parts
Ensures job cards are accurately completed for each repair and records kept

 

Governance & Risk

Ensures overall compliance to all laws, by-laws and regulations relevant to the function
